The Nineth Scroll: What is Trimél’s Uphold?
Trimél’s Uphold is the practice of forcibly altering Haan elements to change their abilities for multiple usages within Dast Casting.
TU works by forcing Cambriny elements to interfere with Dhemsen elements by linking the groupings onto each other without the usage of other types of Haan elements. The practice of TU isn’t necessarily much different from Dast Casting itself with regular spell compositions. It is, however, the practice of forcing the Haan elements to interact with each other differently than normal Dast Castings that makes it gain its unique abilities opposed to projected, destructive Dast Casting spells. Though it’s possible for any Dast Caster to cast TU-related spells: there are very few who have TU spells within their grimoires alongside their normal Dast Castings. The main reason for this is the strain to the Caster’s mental state.
TU’s primary function has to do with healing and summoning spells. The main abilities which make TU spells possible lay within Dhemsen where Cambriny elements then interlock and alter the state of. Using the Dhemsen elements’ abilities of pulling and dragging: the Cambriny change the Dhemsen’s natural states to pull skin together to heal wounds and drag objects for summoning spell compositions. The practice of TU spells is as old as common Dast Casting and was discovered by the first generation of Elves when Ferian ruled as the Arch Yuli of Yulis.
‘’Trimél’’ comes from the name Orian-Rella Vei Trimél who were among the first Yulis alongside Ferian after C’alorus gave Sagen to them.
TU spells have played a major role for the Eferian people since the practice was first discovered. This is due to Trimél’s Uphold spells having served as the first iteration of medical care. The ability to heal injuries in quicker and safer ways have lent TU spells to gain favour amongst many Haan practicing circles. This includes those who are against Haan practices in general. Dast Casters specialising in TU spells can be found all throughout the Eferian continent. Even in places where people who practice Haan are at risk of violence. This is due to the powers TU spells have for the average person’s life where Haan healing spells have changed the way people live. And it isn’t just within places of worship where the practices of TU spellcasting can be found.
For the summoning side of Trimél’s Uphold: the practice of TU spells for the creation of constructs is much rarer to find. The main reason for this is due to the TU spellcasting for summon requires constant focus from the Caster to stay within its construction. There always needs to be a continuance power from the TU summoning spell for the construct to stay within its structure. TU healing spells relays heavily on the Dhemsen side of the Dast Casting whereas summoning spells relays heavily on the Cambriny side of the Dast Casting. Because TU summoning spells need the heavy influence of the Cambriny elements: the control over the casted construct isn’t always reliable. This is because the Cambriny being the only Haan elemental grouping whose nature isn’t completely known to the Sagen people. And how the Cambriny elements behave can’t be fully calculated.
This is also one of the reasons why TU summoning spells aren’t that common to see within many Dast Casters’ primary specialties.
